Amigos has visited AMMA foundation home for orphans, poor & disabled located at Dilshuknagar. This foundation was started by Mr. Anil Kumar who is working as a screen printer in one hospitals located in Hyderabad. The total strength of the kids at the orphanage was 36, which included 2 blind kids
Amigos team of 10 members(Sirish,Hema, Vinod, Shashank, Vineel, Chanakya, Krishna, Vikram, Diana, Chandu & Kalyan) have visited the orphanage on April 26, 2009. one of the active member of the team nikhil couldnt attend the activity this time, we missed out his valuable inputs to the activity
Team has reached the place by 10.30. The kids have introduced themselves and also spoke about their ambitions, many of them did not even think a second to articulate that they would like to be doctors, IAS officers and scientists. This shows how confident they are in deciding their future paths. The kids have unfolded their talent in dancing. There is definitely some hidden talent in these kids. Some of the kids gave amazing dance performances.
We have also played Dumd-Sharades, it was really fun to see the kids enact. We had a great time playing with them.
The activity ended by 2.30 when it was time for their lunch. We have handed over some necessary household items requested by them, such as tube lights, fan, buckets, mugs, some mats and few other necessary items. We had spent some time speaking to the kids and Mr. Anil Kumar before leaving the place.
It was very inspiring to see them having such ambitions in spite of being in their present situation.
