On 16th November, 2008, we went to "Sadhana – home for Mentally Challenged", Hema, Nikhil, Chandu and I (Kalyan), were present for the activity. Before visiting the institution, we purchased some game like mind teasers, mix-n-match, calculus, color games etc, which would eventually help those kids.
We reached the venue by 11:00 AM, and distributed the chocolates and clothes, and then we started playing with them the game of "Ringa Ringa Roses" and "Train game". Those kids as well as well as we, were enjoying ourselves. Soon it was time for drawing, so we soon arranged some drawing books and crayons, and soon the kids started drawing, it was really wonderful.
After that creative painting program, we arranged special lunch for that day, and served them. It's funny how people, who have nothing, thank the powers that gave them the little they have. People who have everything, hunger & thirst for more, not even acknowledging the blessings they have. It's human to be selfish sometimes, but would it kill to picture yourself in someone else's shoes? Is it too much to ask for, to see two sides of a coin before deciding or getting furious at the powers for having to face a consequence to a choice you made.
Getting back to our day…after lunch, they want us to play the same "Ringa Ringa Roses" etc games with them again.
Now it was time for the gifts distribution, so we asked a few kids to come and open the gift boxes. The spark in their eyes while opening the gift boxes was priceless.
Finally the last program was the cutting of the cake, and distribution of the cake. The day passed by very fast and it was soon time to leave. Suddenly, few of the kids started crying when we were about to leave, it was unexpected for us. Just for showing little affection and spending some time with them, the amount of respect and love we got in return was amazing. Children are really the incarnations of God; no matter how different or special.
We thank the Powers for giving us this opportunity to serve people;
I'm sure, we will conduct few more similar activities in the near future, to give the feeling to orphans that, God cares for them and he will send people to serve them. To let the innocent souls know that they aren't alone and have people watching over them and looking out for them.
Total amount collected for the Sadhana (second activity) was 3,500 Rs/-

Vineel – 1,000 Rs/-
Kalyan – 1,000 Rs/-
